Regular classes at Atelier Simonet
Why a regular school system?
Shibari is a complex practice that requires learning over time.
This system of evening classes based on a program and levels will help you to progress through a curriculum from the basics to the level that will suit you to practice ropes as you wish, safely and conscientiously.
The duration of the lessons is 2 to 3 hours in a small friendly group.

Different levels of education
- Initiation, for beginners. It shows the first basics to have fun, the technical basics and what we can do with them to play, the physical and psychological security related to this level of practice, and a talk about history.
- ‘Beginner’ classes, a series of 4-5 classes that allow to learn the different knots, frictions, harness. First by repeating precise pattern in order to deal with them and to be able to start quickly to put intention in our ropes and to communicate with our partner. Then we detail a bit to undestant what we do, in order allow us to increase our technique and our communication over time.
- The ‘advanced beginner’ classes, a series of classes a little bit longer during which we begin learning suspension lines, among others semi-suspension with a gradual evolution to the suspension. In particular, we take advantage of this period to develop our beginner technique and become aware of the communication of sensations and emotions to our partner. Of course, the safety elements related to this level of practice are largely covered.
- Intermediate classes, these sessions aim to understand the basics of standing suspensions, to develop our technical capacity in working at height, but also and especially to develop and intensify our communication in the ropes.
It is also the ideal entry point for intensive intermediate and advanced intermediate workshops, whatever the style. The safety associated with this level of practice is once again being addressed in depth.
